In 2002 TCI applied thermal barrier coatings on repaired Calpine’s Westinghouse 501D Stage One vanes, which are known as the hottest components among all operating gas turbines. These coated components have already run for more than 24,000 hours and still running, that is 50% more life over any other coatings previously being applied on the same component.
